YASUAKI SHIMIZU

With two classic releases of the early 1980s—the solo album Kakashi, and Utakata no Hibi with Mariah—now enjoying a global resurgence, Yasuaki Shimizu has gained a new following, especially among a younger generation of western music lovers. Shimizu’s music, long loved for its genre-hopping genius, has come to inspire almost cult-like devotion.

Now at last, North American audiences will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the unique worldview of this music that earned rave reviews in Europe in 2018. This long-awaited tour, with programming once again courtesy of Ray Kunimoto, will kick off in New York and consist of a total of seven performances, six in the US and one in Canada.
