8K short drama The Chorus with music by Shimizu to be broadcast March 17-25 on NHK BS 8K
清水が2013年に音楽制作した実験的8Kドラマ『コーラス』。サキソフォンの録音では、NHK技術研究所の高層吹き抜けエントランスに19本のマイクを配置し、豊かな響きを収録。とある集合住宅で起こる群像劇を断面1カットで撮影するなど視覚/聴覚的に超高精細技術を最大限に生かした作品です。

Making the most of ultra-high definition technology - visually and aurally - this experimental film features a cross-section view of the lives lived simultaneously on three floors of a Tokyo apartment block. Shimizu recorded part of the soundtrack on saxophone in the 14-story atrium of the NHK STRL with 19 microphones to capture the crispness of the lower floor sound together with the warmth of the long reverb.
