Yasuaki Shimizu live, Saturday 4 April at Jofukuji temple in Sagamihara

The "Jofukuji Live – be" lecture/concert series has explored the profound theme of memento mori since 1992. This year, Yasuaki Shimizu will headline the concert segment of the series in a special duo performance with electronic pioneer Carl Stone.

The performance takes place in the temple’s main hall, with all doors removed to create a singular, open space. The evening begins not with sound, but with stillness: a five-minute zazen meditation. From that shared silence, the music emerges.

Experience the intersection of Rinzai Zen and contemporary art—a fleeting, transcendental moment of sound that exists only in the "now."
