『雄呂血』湯布院映画祭にて上映決定
Orochi set to screen at the Yufuin Cinema Festival!
1925年に制作された阪東妻三郎主演による無声映画の名作『雄呂血』。その4Kデジタル修復版が、第51回湯布院映画祭にて上映されます。
本作の音楽は、2008年に明治神宮会館で上演された「Orochi」フィルム・コンサートでの演奏をきっかけに、4Kデジタル修復版のプロデューサーからオファーを受け、清水が音楽を担当しました。修復によって新たに補われたシーンや映像速度の調整に合わせ、当時の楽曲をベースに音楽を再構築し、新たにを録音を行いました。
映画を愛する人々に親しまれてきた湯布院映画祭での上映です。

Originally produced in 1925, Orochi starring Tsumasaburo Bando is a masterpiece of silent cinema. The film's 4K digital restoration, with music by Yasuaki Shimizu, is set to screen at the 51st Yufuin Cinema Festival.
Sparked by his acclaimed performance at the 2008 Orochi film/concert at Meiji Jingu Hall, Shimizu was invited by the producer to reimagine the music for this new release. To match the reincorporated scenes and adjusted footage speeds, Shimizu meticulously reconstructed his original compositions and laid down a brand-new recording for this stunning restoration.
Bringing this cinematic masterpiece to the Yufuin Cinema Festival, a historic haven for film enthusiasts, makes for a truly unique event. For those in the region, we encourage you to experience it.
