on sale August 19!
2025年夏にNHKで放送され、第63回ギャラクシー賞テレビ部門大賞を受賞するなど高い評価を得た戦後80年ドラマ「八月の声を運ぶ男」。
放送版に未公開シーンを加えた映画版の劇場公開にあわせ、オリジナル・サウンドトラックが8月19日に発売決定しました。
長崎で被爆者の証言を記録し続けたジャーナリスト・伊藤明彦氏の実話をもとに描かれた本作で清水は、登場人物が生きる時代の空気や、沈黙の中にある想い、言葉になる前の気配に耳を澄ませるように作曲・録音。
アルバムの核となる〈言葉ヲ集メル〉は、主人公・辻原を象徴する楽曲。一人ひとりの証言に耳を傾けながら、真実を求め続ける静かな意志を映しだし、「黒い木立」は、追悼と鎮魂の想いを映した楽曲で、深い悲しみと祈りを静かに湛えながら、作品の中でも印象的な場面を支えている。

音楽制作にあたり、清水は次のように語っている。
「主人公が被爆者の声をオープンリールテープレコーダに収めていたことに、幼少期に似た機材で音を紡いだ経験が重なり、不思議な縁を感じました。戦後10年に生まれた私にとって、この制作中に当時の”声”がふと心に響いてきました。」

Broadcast on NHK in 2025, this powerful post-war 80th-anniversary drama received critical acclaim, winning the prestigious Grand Prize in the Television Division at the 63rd Galaxy Awards. The album arrives just ahead of the theatrical premiere of the film version—featuring previously unreleased scenes—on August 21.
Shimizu crafted and recorded the music by listening closely to the atmosphere of the era, the unspoken emotions within the silence, and the subtle presence before words are even spoken. The core track of the album “Kotoba o Atsumeru,” symbolizing the protagonist, reflects a quiet, steadfast will to seek the truth; “Kuroi Tachiki,” a deeply moving track reflecting mourning and repose, anchors some of the most memorable scenes in the story.
Comment from Yasuaki Shimizu: “The protagonist capturing the voices of atomic bomb survivors on an open-reel tape recorder resonated with me, as I had used similar equipment to weave sounds during my own childhood, making me feel a strange twist of fate. Though I was born ten years after the war, the ‘voices’ of that era haunted me throughout the production process.”
